This is a remarkable opportunity to work with Caroline Liem, one of the most hard-core casting directors, coaches, and teachers in town, along with a bonus of 2 BGB Master Teachers to further explore and expand your Audition Experience.

The Audition Experience gives you the opportunity to get comfortable with the audition process so that you can make bold, smart choices that lead to success. Caroline’s commitment to an intimate, honest, exploration of the audition process allows you to explore what it means to bring the full force of your talent to your auditions.

And then our guest teachers will enrich your journey. Together you will tap into your distinct and highly personal point of view, hone your process, and fire up your confidence so you can achieve the success you deserve.

Most of the sessions will be on-camera, working with different material each week. You’ll explore pieces from film and television scripts, long and short. You’ll find your voice in the story, let go of the nerves, and be your absolute best self in the room. Some out-of-class preparation is required.

Overview

The Audition Experience addresses your work before, during, and after your audition, including preparation, the waiting room, working on camera, connecting with any reader, taking adjustments, etc. Most of all, it explores ways to claim your boldest, most personal, and specific work.     CAROLINE LIEMTeacher

    Caroline is a casting director, audition coach and international teacher based in Los Angeles. Her highly acclaimed audition and text analysis classes have been taught throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico and Russia. Additionally, Caroline is adjunct faculty with PACE SCHOOL OF PERFORMING ARTS, and has enjoyed guest teaching at universities throughout the United States, including THE JUILLIARD SCHOOL, NYU TISCH, UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS AT URBANA – CHAMPAIGN, DEPAUL UNIVERSITY, LOYOLA- CHICAGO, COLUMBIA COLLEGE, and OCCIDENTAL COLLEGE.  Before there was Glee, there was POPULAR, the first show she worked on alongside Ryan Murphy. Many wonderful casting experiences followed working with prominent producers and directors, including Lauren Shuler Donner, David Goyer, Jon Turteltaub, Nat Bernstein and Bryan Singer, as well as Disney Studios overseeing such projects as GONE IN SIXTY SECONDS, PEARL HARBOR, and GANGS OF NEW YORK. She served as the Casting Executive for the award winning late night show  JIMMY KIMMEL LIVE! Her background as a musician and singer progressing to actor and casting director provided Caroline with a firm foundation and distinct network of professionals. She graduated with an MFA from UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS AT URBANA – CHAMPAIGN, a BA from UCLA, and is a member of the Casting Society of America and the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.

    When Debby Jay had her first lesson in the Alexander Technique in 1982, she experienced a sense of lightness and ease that astonished her and changed the direction of her life. She studied Alexander privately for 4 years, and trained to be a teacher at the AMERICAN CENTER FOR THE ALEXANDER TECHNIQUE in New York, and for almost 30 years has been teaching individuals and groups.

    To better understand why people embody themselves they way they do, Debby got additional training in Somatic Experiencing–a body-oriented approach to resolving trauma.

    Debby has helped hundreds of actors — at the HOWARD FINE ACTING STUDIO and at BGB STUDIO — to develop a more radiant and focused presence in their work.

    Debby is delighted to be able to help her students and clients experience greater emotional and physical freedom and to feel increasingly grounded in their own truth.

  • CELESTE PECHOUS
    CELESTE PECHOUSTeacher

    Celeste Pechous (SAG/AFTRA) has improvised around the world with some of the most distinguished improv theaters.  She is an alumnae of the SECOND CITY NATIONAL TOURING COMPANY and has trained and performed at the SECOND CITY Chicago/LA, iO Chicago/LA, and THE ANNOYANCE THEATER. Pechous was honored Best Actress for her work in THE CLAN at the Midwest Film Festival. She received a Best Actress nominee from the Downtown LA Film Festival and was awarded the Outstanding Performance from The SNAFF Film Festival for her work in the dark-comedy short, PAST DUE, based on her short story.  TV credits include KINGS OF CON, Showtime’s MASTERS OF SEX, Comedy Central’s WORKAHOLICS and REVIEW and TV Land’s HOT IN CLEVELAND.  You can see her improvise weekly at iO WEST and SECOND CITY LA and on TV in one of her many national spots. Pechous teaches Improv at SECOND CITY’S CONSERVATORY, at festivals around the country and is the founder of Dosage Improv Intensives.
