Have you ever…
Wanted to create acting work for yourself?
Been disappointed with the types of roles you’re auditioning for?
Felt like there were other stories that YOU want to see and hear?
Allowed perfectionism to interrupt or derail your efforts?
Said that you want to create something but don’t know how to start?
The Creators Lab with L. Trey Wilson is the next generation of acting class. Trey is that multiple-threat artist who knows what it takes to carve out success in a business that only favors the bold. This class is cutting edge and incorporates everything we know about where the business is and where it’s going. At some point in every career, the industry stops giving an actor what they want. A career is only made when you find your way past that wall. The Creators Lab shows you how.
It’s pretty simple. The Creator’s Lab is about creating content. Or rather, it’s about assisting YOU in creating content. Each week there is either something to get you writing and/or brainstorming OR sharing what you are already working on and getting support in moving it forward. We create a safe and supportive atmosphere for creativity to be explored and expressed. We also recognize the importance of being in the practice of acting and getting time in front of the camera. Everything we do in class is filmed and sent to the class participants during the week so you can regularly see your work on camera, and evaluate and revise what you create.
We believe that an integral part of the creative process is presenting. So, throughout, we will create opportunities to perform and present what we have created in class. Sometimes there’s nothing like a good performance deadline to get us to take action!
We’re ready when YOU are. WELCOME to THE CREATOR’S LAB.
This dynamic workout includes on-camera, scene-study, improv, character, scene and script development and Trey’s signature approach to writing, performing, shooting and producing your own characters, dialogue and scenes.
Every week, Trey will empower you to start writing and/or brainstorming OR sharing what you are already working on and getting support in moving it forward. Class was incredible. Trey challenged us, but made it a safe environment to take chances in. So much energy is spent worrying about perfection, or reasons "why not" in this industry. Today we discussed, in a non-judgmental way, that there are no excuses. Because we're all capable. Of way more than we're used to giving ourselves credit for. Everyone is so comfortable with Trey and jumped right into playing with each other, and exploring the scenes we wrote, without fear.John K Moeslein BLINDSPOTTING
Trey is a true multi-hyphenate: actor, writer, director, producer. And he's great at all of them. I've acted in his plays, been directed by him and have used his plays in my undergraduate acting classes at UCLA. Trey has also been a guest artist in my class several times so I know how clear, kind and giving he is when working with students. He's also without a doubt one of the nicest, most generous and supportive people I've EVER met. Everyone who knows Trey loves him--and I'm not exaggerating.Judith Moreland PARKS AND RECREATION
