Each week you’ll engage in a new way in which to explore your unique voice, to get personal, specific, and bold, and to challenge your resistance. Facing your fears and your resistance is essential in finding freedom and honesty in your work.
You will encounter your your resistance and look at what gets in your way. You will explore a deeper connection to your instincts, your partner, and your audience. You will reconnect with your own beautiful, unique voice in the work, from the audition room to the sound stage. You will start to make bolder choices and take total ownership of those choices. You will step into your own powerful point of view; use your individual narrative to harness your authentic self and light up any room.

- CATE COHENTeacher
Cate Cohen is an actress and writer, most recently seen in recurring roles on JANE THE VIRGIN and HBO’s SILICON VALLEY.
Her career encompasses a wide range of work in theater, film, television, commercials, and voiceover. A performer equally adept at drama and comedy, Cate’s other performances include the critically-acclaimed productions of BROADWAY BOUND and DINNER WITH FRIENDS at La Mirada Theatre.
Cate also spent several years dancing with the Radio City Rockettes. Her experience in the world’s most famous chorus line is the basis for her critically acclaimed one-woman show, OUT OF LINE, which was subsequently developed into a half-hour comedy pilot for ABC.

- JAMES MORRISONTeacher
James Morrison is an award-winning actor, best known as Bill Buchanan on the Emmy winning series 24, and Warden Murphy on TWIN PEAKS: THE RETURN. James has made hundreds of other television and film appearances and played in US, UK and World Premieres at the Mark Taper Forum, La Jolla Playhouse, the Old Globe, Princeton’s McCarter, Edinburgh’s venerable Traverse Theatre and the Donmar Warehouse on London’s West End. A singer/songwriter, playwright and filmmaker, his documentary SHOWING UP: A CONVERSATION ABOUT THE AUDITION is available to stream on video-on-demand outlets everywhere as well as from www.jpmorrison.com. James sits on the Board of Trustees and has taught at the renowned White Lotus Foundation in Santa Barbara, where he received his teaching certification. He taught regular classes for ten years at the Center for Yoga in L.A. before moving to the Ojai Valley in 2011 where he lives with his wife and son.

- CAMILLE CHENTeacher
Camille Chen attended The University of Texas at Austin, then quickly transitioned to Los Angeles, where she immediately broke into the commercial world. In 15 years, she has appeared in over 100 commercials and accrued over 70 television and film credits. You might recognize her from the STATE FARM commercial with the dollar on the fishing pole (that just wouldn’t quit.) Her favorite roles have been on LAW & ORDER, 2 BROKE GIRLS, GAME NIGHT, and most recently, SINGLE PARENTS and GOD FRIENDED ME. Her goal as a coach is to create the space for actors to find the work and play on their own, so the result is unique to them. She’s passionate about discovering what the scene means to each actor. She believes that every actor has the capacity to become fully confident and self-sufficient in the work. Camille booked her biggest and most favorite role to date, on January 18th, 2019 – playing Mom to her sweet little girl, Colette.

- Will DoughtyTeacher
Will Doughty brings passion and vision to his work that inspires performers to balance structure and freedom in their creative process. With 20 years of experience in the entertainment industry including television credits for NBC, Showtime and Comedy Central and a dozen national commercial campaigns, his classes are high energy, positive, supportive and empowering. Will has been guest teaching at the BGB Studio for over six years and is an advocate for freedom of expression. Will has studied and performed improv in Chicago, Minneapolis, Los Angeles, New York, Austin, and San Francisco. His LA training includes UCB, iOWest, and Second City. Will also co-produced and co-hosted Crashbar Improv weekly for 5 years, which has given birth to the annual LA Indie Improv Festival. Will challenges the improv form by bringing it to the script. His classes blend the spontaneity of improv with grounded scripted material, challenging actors to trust in their process and show up fully to their performance be it comedy or drama. He believes that an actor’s imagination is the defining factor in their craft.

- Felipe FigueroaTeacher
Felipe Figueroa came to the work through a long and joyful stretch in musical theater. After he finished his BFA at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, he moved to LA and has been working ever since. Career highlights include roles on TRANSPARENT, LOPEZ and CRIMINAL MINDS, as well as numerous plays, sketches, and web series. Felipe believes that the trademark of any successful acting career is cultivating a supportive community of creators with whom to collaborate — that way, you’ll always be working and invested in doing the work.

- L. Trey WilsonTEACHER
L. Trey Wilson is an actor, writer, director, producer, teaching artist and facilitator. Originally from Chicago and now makes his home in Los Angeles.
As an actor, theater credits include: SIX DEGREES OF SEPARATION, A FEW GOOD MEN, TRUE WEST, A LESSON BEFORE DYING, THE SECRET GARDEN, THE KATRINA PLAY, STAGE DIRECTIONS. He worked for two seasons with Shakespeare and Co. performing in TAMING OF THE SHREW, ANTONY AND CLEOPATRA, and MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM. Television and Film credits: LAW AND ORDER SVU, MONK, FINAL JUSTICE, SPEED RACER, WHITEWASH and presently the popular Netflix series SENSE 8.
Writing and Directing credits include his plays, THREE PART DISHARMONY, ALL ABOUT ESTHER, STAGE DIRECTIONS, TURN, SOMETHING HAPPENED, STAY, AUGUST (a collection of 31 short plays), a six part Web series and two solo performance pieces.
Awards include: The LA Drama Critics Circle Award, The NAACP Award, The Backstage West Garland Award, The LA Weekly Award, The GLAAD Award and The Ovation Award.
