You’ve Written the Script… Now What?

An exciting new class that will challenge, inspire, and empower you to get your idea from script to set.

“Make your own work!” We’ve all heard it countless times but what does it actually mean?

You’ve got an original idea, a solid script, and you’re ready to bring your short film to life but what comes next? How do you get from script to screen, and successfully? Who do you hire and how much do you pay them? What equipment will you need? How many days do you shoot? SAG paperwork? Insurance? Permits??? Not only that, but once you’ve secured the nuts and bolts of production, how do you ensure that all of this is going to come together in a way that honors your original artistic vision?

Creating your own work empowers you to take control of your own career.

Natalie Britton and Kate Hamilton have experienced this first hand. They both started their careers as actors and are now well versed in the fundamental shift that happens when you start making opportunities for yourself. They have combined experience producing over 16 award winning short films, most recently under the umbrella of their production company “Queen’s Gambit Films.” Natalie and Kate know exactly what it takes to get from prep to the first day of pre-production through to the final film festival submission, and they specialize in working with first time filmmakers.

For actors, writers, and directors. BY APPLICATION OR INVITATION.

The Producer’s Lab: Making Your Short

This class is right for you if you’re ready- or close to ready- to make your short (or any project for that matter) and you want to gather all the tools necessary to do it well.

1. If you’ve got a script ready to go.

2. Or you’ve got a script that’s nearly there and you know it needs some work.

3. Or you’ve got an outline or treatment for a script and want to be ready when your script is.

4. Or you want to make a short (for so many reasons) but you aren’t quite there yet and want to know what the nuts and bolts of making a short are to help galvanize you towards taking action.

There is a ton of content being made these days, which makes it even more important that the piece you make is exceptional and stands out for all the right reasons.

Quality filmmaking can be expensive and Kate & Natalie thrive on empowering actors/writers/directors so that they have all the knowledge and practical know-how necessary in order to make the most of their budget and get it right the first time around.
