Grasie Mercedes is a Latina actress, writer, and director. She began her career at MTV Networks as a producer before moving to LA to further pursue her creative endeavors.
Recently, she was a writer on the first season of the NBC network show PERFECT HARMONY. Past writing credits include EGG DAY, a dark comedy short film based on her personal experience with IVF. It had its world premiere at the LA Shorts International Film Festival on July 2018 and was recently screened at the Atlanta Film Festival to a sold out audience with an encore presentation. It was Grasie’s directorial film debut. She co-wrote and co-directed MY WHITE BOYFRIEND, a comedic web series about interracial dating also loosely based on her life.
Grasie is on the executive board of GUMPTION PICTURES, a new micro-studio that cultivates fresh storytelling from diverse creators, founded by Dave Hill in 2017. She currently leads the diversity outreach program and heads the branding and marketing team. Her acting credits include roles on RATCHED, the new Ryan Murphy show for Netflix, 9-1-1 on FOX, GOOD TROUBLE on Freeform, THE AFFAIR and MASTERS OF SEX on Showtime, CRIMINAL MINDS and the pilot FOUR STARS on CBS. She has also been featured in over a dozen national commercials and indie films.
Grasie attended New York University and graduated magna cum laude with a degree in Broadcast Journalism and Spanish.
