There is NO PARKING in the small parking lot right in front of the BGB building.
There is ample street parking on Vineland, Burbank, and neighborhood side streets.
Burbank and Vineland have unrestricted/unlimited parking most of the time (starting 6 pm weekdays and all day weekends). But always read signs.
Neighborhood side streets are unrestricted in the evenings and weekends (and require some searching).
Give yourself plenty of time to find street parking. Check out the highlighted map here for where you should be able to find parking in the evening and/or on the weekends.
JUST TO BE SAFE: Our neighborhood can be dark at night, and we suggest you keep your eyes open during the day, so:
Buddy up: Make sure to have someone in class walk with you to your car, daytime and evenings.
Do not leave belongings in your car that are valuable. Do not leave anything visible in your car that might be of any value at all- from sunglasses to clothing to backpacks. Take them with you or put them in a locked trunk.
Stay alert: Keep your eyes open as you head to your car- don’t bury yourself in your phone- just to be safe. That includes crossing the street. Our corner is a traffic challenge and the streets around are not well lit.
If you see anyone suspicious following you on foot or in a car, cross the street, find someone to talk to or a store to enter. And try to get the car license plate if appropriate. That goes for any neighborhood.
Keep us informed: If you see anything suspicious or if anything makes you uncomfortable walking or driving in the neighborhood, let us know. Tell your TA, teacher, our staff.
