The Self-Care Practices That Book Work

May 15 at 12PM Pacific Time. 75 minutes.

This session with Steve Braun will focus on how managing your mental, physical, and emotional health translates into a successful acting career.  You’ll be offered tools to focus your self-care towards career success.  The Industry and the pursuit of the Industry can break you down, cut you into fragmented pieces, and re-wire your brain for sabotage and failure.  To be successful you have to push back against those forces to ground yourself, heal yourself, and make yourself whole so you can approach the work with joy and confidence.  Join Steve for these career and life-changing practices!

An Actor’s Consent: Navigating Vulnerable Spaces

June 5 at 12PM Pacific Time. 75 minutes.

This 75 minute seminar class with the amazing Intimacy Coordinator, Mia Schachter, will offer a framework for navigating intimate work in set, in rehearsal, on stage, and in class. It offers an understanding not just who is doing an action, but *who it’s for.* It’s about the agreement that we make with one another.

From Mia: We’ll talk about consent as more than just “permission,” but rather as a form of and a practice in communication: of boundaries, desires, limits, and needs. We’ll talk about generosity, gratitude, surrender, and integrity. We’ll talk about serving, accepting, allowing, and taking, and how to make sure everyone is on the same page about who is doing what and for whom. And this is for our work and for life.

We’ll talk about the difference between feeling uncomfortable vs unsafe. We will also discuss the intricacies of consent as being:

Freely given

Reversible

Informed

Enthusiastic

If you want to understand what intimacy work really is, what it means to give and ask for consent, and to advocate for yourself, these 75 minutes with Mia can change your life.

WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING

Simon Quarterman

The BGB Studio has had a profound effect, not only in my work but in my life. It’s been quite frankly life-changing.
PAMELA ADLON

Risa is a woman with knowledge, history, experience, language, depth… and balls. I would encourage anyone to take the opportunity to work with this extraordinary woman. My life is richer for the time I’ve spent with her.
Daniella Alonso

Training with Steve at BGB absolutely changed my career. He gives me the practical tools and the confidence to book work. His insight, intuition, and passion for the actor’s process make working with him invaluable.
DONAL LOGUE

Risa was able to make me, an agent-less, essentially credit-less actor at the time, ask the question — Why not me? She recognized the artist in me, brought it out, and helped me never to be intimidated by external circumstances that have nothing to do with what we do as artists.
Anna Silk

I cannot express enough the difference Steve's class has made in my abilities as an actor and the impact it has had on my life. Thank you Steve, from the bottom of my heart.
CHARLIE WEBER

When I found Risa and BGB I was searching for a missing ingredient to take my work to another level. The lessons I learned will forever change the way I approach material. Within a short time of putting this to use, I found myself landing the kind of role I had always wanted.

For your career… and your life. Right NOW!
